Environmental certification like RPP is important for politicians
Swedish Minister for Rural Affairs enthusiastic about RPP
Ingrid Kyllerstedt, responsible for communications at Svensk Torv (left on photo) had a meeting with Jennie Nilsson, the Swedish Minister for Rural Affairs (right on photo).
They discussed the conditions for the peat industry and Ingrid showed an issue of the magazine Svensk Torv, summarizing the Annual Assembly in Jönköping when RPP visited and informed about RPP-certification. The spontaneous reaction from Minister Nilsson was: “This is exactly what you should concentrate on. Environmental certification is incredibly important for us politicians to know that something is acceptable. It gives a neutral information that we can trust”.
This is a good example of how RPP certification can be a tool for communication and help with the acceptation on political level of peat production for horticulture.
